On February 20-25, Boulder-Lhasa Sister City Project (BLSCP) will host an education exchange
in Boulder with a delegation from Lhasa, Tibet. The delegation, including four Tibetans, is:,
Mr. Chunda - Deputy Director General of Education Bureau of Lhasa Municipality,
Ms. Feng Xingjuan - President of No.1 Primary School of Lhasa Municipality,
Ms. Nyima Tsamchuo - Headmaster of No.2 Primary School of Chengguan District of Lhasa Municipality,

Peyang (sixth-grade girl) - Student of No.2 Primary School of Chengguan District of Lhasa Municipality,
Ms. Sonam Dekyi - Interpreter of Foreign Affairs Office of Lhasa Municipality,
The purpose of the exchange is to consult on school management, teaching methods, and curriculum
research and development. Lhasa educators will observe classrooms and meet with Boulder educators
to discuss their lessons, curriculum, and teaching methods. Lhasa students will participate with
Boulder students in classrooms and after-school student activities., On February 21, BLSCP and Tibetan
Association of Colorado (TAC) will co-sponsor a Welcome Dinner for the Lhasa delegation, which will
feature several choices of catered Tibetan food and a few song & dance numbers by the TAC Cultural Troupe.
The dinner will be held in the Grand Assembly room at Chautauqua's Community House. We will need to
focus the exchange on friendship, hospitality, and education and refrain from any conversation or
actions that could make our guests feel uncomfortable or awkward, such as discussions on the politics
of Tibet. We invite you to join us for this event.
If you are able to attend, you must RSVP to me not later than February 17. We encourage you to
bring your school-age children. Please reply to me with the names of your family members who will
be attending the dinner. We will ask you to pay a cover charge of $10 per person at the door to help
cover the costs of the dinner. Directions to Community House are posted at Map and Directions., If you
have any questions or comments, please contact me.
